Setting the Stage: Keynotes and Global Reach

If you weren’t at Trimble Dimensions Australia 2025, you truly missed what was arguably the year’s most impactful event for the geospatial, construction, and surveying industries! The inaugural flagship user conference roared into life at The Star Casino in Brisbane, unfolding as an outstanding success. Over two incredible days, more than 700 attendees converged to explore the absolute forefront of technology and forge vital connections, igniting an energy in Brisbane that was nothing short of palpable and marking a significant, unforgettable moment for the profession down under.

The event commenced with a fantastic introduction from Ron Bisio, Senior Vice President, Field Solutions, Trimble, followed by a truly moving and emotional presentation by Paralympic champion and Australian Army veteran Curtis McGrath OAM PLY. Matt Ramage (Trimble) also delivered an inspiring keynote, setting an engaging tone for the conference. Attendees participated in 73 insightful sessions, offering hands-on learning and exploring cutting-edge innovations. The global reach of Trimble was evident, with 80 dedicated staff travelling from various corners of the world to share their expertise.

A significant component of the conference was the offsite expo held at Sirromet Winery, which showcased the biggest Trimble technology exhibition ever held in Australia. Over 70 Trimble experts were on hand, demonstrating the latest civil and geospatial solutions up close.

Panel Spotlight: Shaping the Future Workforce

A standout moment was the “Driving Change: Empowering a Modern Workforce” panel discussion. Featuring industry leaders Peta Cox, Tamanna (Tam) Relia, Meghan Hamilton, Kirsty Hopewell, and Laura Hattin, the panel sparked an important conversation about supporting and growing teams in today’s fast-evolving work environment. The discussion emphasised the necessity of fostering a modern, inclusive workforce for long-term growth and innovation, with insights that resonated deeply with attendees.  A special thanks to Simona Riftin from BuildingPoint Australia for getting this wonderful group together.

Connecting and Contributing: Our Teams in Action

Throughout the conference, the Surveyors Australia, Surveying Careers Queensland, members of the CCF National Board, and Industry Training Alliance RTO #46181 teams were actively promoting their initiatives and connecting with members and partners. Board members from Surveyors Australia also met with representatives from Trimble Inc. and UPG to discuss opportunities for surveying and geospatial across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific, aiming for closer collaboration on industry and education initiatives.

The UPG (Ultimate Positioning Group), SITECH Construction Systems, and BuildingPoint Australia teams were at the heart of the action, managing numerous booths and delivering compelling presentations. Joe Lloyd from UPG contributed his expertise to the comprehensive Trimble Survey and Mapping Geospatial overview, providing invaluable insights into advancements in the field.

From Community Insights to Behind-the-Scenes Excellence

Attendees relished the opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and meet numerous surveyors from across the region, reinforcing the strength and forward-thinking nature of the geospatial community. Sharing updates on Trimble Access and hearing real-world examples of its application proved particularly popular, even generating new ideas for future roadmaps.

The success of Trimble Dimensions Australia was a testament to the hard work of the powerhouse team behind the scenes, including Matt Rhyne, Bethany Walker, Mindy Matullo, and Michaella Conery. Their dedication ensured the event ran smoothly and was an unforgettable experience for all. A deep appreciation was also extended to all customers, partners, and Trimble employees who contributed to making the event a huge success.
