Lessons from INTERGEO 2015

INTERGEO is the world’s leading conference trade fair for geodesy, geoinformation and land management. This year it was held in Stuttgart, Germany between the 15th and the 17th of September and hosted over 16 000 visitors from 92 countries and over 500 exhibitors.

INTERGEO is an ideal opportunity for learning what is happening in the geospatial industry internationally from attendee’s key takeaways. This year’s key takeaways are listed below.

Speaking of exciting and new products, Trimble took advantage of their substantial presence at INTERGEO to launch some exciting, new products of their own.

R2-FI Trimble R2 GNSS receiver
The Trimble R2 is a versatile GNSS receiver that provides a flexible and easy-to-use solution for Survey and GIS professionals who require accurate positioning information for their workflows. Read more.
TDL2-4-FI Trimble Data Link 2.4 GHz Radio
The TDL2.4 Radio provides a wireless connection to a controller (without internal radio) via a Bluetooth connection and connects to the Trimble Total station through the Trimble typical 2.4 GHz connection. Read more.
zx5--FI Trimble ZX5 Multirotor UAS
The ZX5 is durable, easy to set up and ideal for mapping smaller spaces and obstructed environments. Data captured by the ZX5 can be imported into Trimble Business Center Photogrammetry Module. Read more.
TrimbleEdgewise_FI Trimble EdgewiseTrimble EdgeWise is powerful 3D Laser Scanning software that rapidly extracts features from point clouds and produces intelligent models with industry standard dimensions. Read more.
RemoteSensingSuite_FI Trimble Remote Sensing Suite
The Trimble Remote Sensing Suite addresses the needs of professionals generating high quality data, models and analytics from satellite based imagery. Read more.
TrimbleCommunity-FI Trimble Community
The Trimble Community is a place where customers can access rich Trimble content. The purpose of this community is to create, share, and deploy content; drive conversation and collaboration. Read more.

Ronald Bisio, General Manager Geospatial Trimble, was an expert speaker at INTERGEO and after the press conference spoke with INTERGEO TV about data capture and more importantly making that data useful. Watch the full conversation in the video below.

Keep your workflows and get more usable data

R2Work the way you want with the Trimble® R2 GNSS receiver. The R2 is more accurate, less cumbersome and lets you work the way you want and get more usable data. With advanced Trimble GNSS technology and a compact, durable design, the R2 receiver gives you the flexibility to choose a solution based on the accuracy and GNSS performance level that suits your application, from GIS grade all the way to survey grade.

  • High-accuracy positions in real-time ranging from sub-meter to centimeter level. You choose the accuracy.
  • B.Y.O.D. – Smartphone, Tablet or Trimble Handheld.
  • Connect to a range of correction sources – from SBAS and VRS networks to Trimble RTX™ correction services delivered by satellite and Internet – for accurate data at almost any location.
  • Easy to use ESRI ArcMap plugin
  • Cheaper, smaller, lighter survey grade solution.
  • Proven technology when the premium level functionality of a high end receiver is not required.
  • Tracks ALL available constellations, making it future proof.
  • Easily integrates with other survey equipment and also MGIS and third party applications.

It’s versatile, mount it on a pole, a backpack or on a vehicle and easy to use, push one-button to start and begin collecting data straight away.

It’s perfect for everyday applications with Trimble Access, or add Trimble TerraFlex™ which now supports centimeter-level accuracy workflows, or the updated Trimble TerraSync and Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office software for high-quality deliverables, both in the field and office.

Whether you want an inexpensive survey rover or a high-level GIS receiver, the Trimble R2 allows you to work accurately and productively and do it your way.
